Welcome To Nurse Assisting
Hello and welcome to our class. I am pleased to have the opportunity to teach first and second year Nurse Assisting. I have been a Registered Nurse and Assistant Head Nurse on a surgical unit in a hospital setting for over 20 years, as well as a school nurse at Barry Tech. I very much enjoy the challenges and responsibilities of working as a teacher with our high school students.
Course Description
Course Availability: Grades 11 and 12
Course Length: 2 Years
This course creates a solid foundation for students whose future educational and career interest is in the health care field. The Nurse Assisting curricula integrates classroom work with hands-on practical experience in a health care facility. Upon completion of the second year, and after meeting the clinical hour requirement, students sit for the state-issued CNA exam.
